Soft Tissue Massage

Soft tissue massage is a hands-on treatment used to work with the muscles, fascia and other soft tissues of the body. It can be used to help reduce muscle tension, improve movement and promote relaxation, as well as supporting recovery following exercise or injury.

At Conwy Physio Clinic, our massage treatments are tailored to you and your individual needs. Depending on your goals, this may be more focused Sports Massage or a gentler Remedial & Holistic Massage approach.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is particularly suited to people who are active, whether you are a recreational runner, cyclist, gym-goer or competitive athlete.

Treatment is generally more focused and may involve deeper or more specific techniques to address areas of muscular tightness, overload or discomfort. Sports massage can be useful as part of an overall training and recovery programme, helping you maintain movement and manage the physical demands of your chosen activity.

It isn’t just for sports injuries – you don’t need to be an athlete to benefit from sports massage.

Remedial & Holistic Massage

Remedial and holistic massage takes a broader approach, with the aim of helping the body relax and improving overall wellbeing.

Treatment can be adapted to suit areas of tension, muscular discomfort or general stiffness, with the pressure and techniques tailored to your preferences and requirements. It can be particularly beneficial if you are looking for a more relaxing treatment while still addressing areas of muscular tension.

Which massage is right for me?

There can be some overlap between Sports Massage and Remedial & Holistic Massage. The most appropriate approach will depend on what you are hoping to achieve.

Whether your aim is to support your training, address areas of muscular tension, recover after exercise or simply take some time to relax, your treatment will be tailored to you.

Don’t worry if you’re not sure which type of massage is right for you. This can be discussed with your therapist at your appointment, and your treatment will be tailored to your individual needs and preferences.
